Focus and Scope

The Addabana Journal is a journal that is published regularly in 2 editions, February and August, published by the Department of Islamic Education STAI Al Falah Banjarbaru resulting from research by experts in the field of Islamic education. The focus of this journal is on important and actual issues regarding Islamic Education, such as:

Peer Review Process

  1. Reviewers will review any submitted paper.
  2. Review process employs a double-blind review, which means that both the reviewer and author identities are concealed from the reviewers, and vice versa.
  3. In the review process, reviewers consider the correspondence of title, abstract, discussion (findings) and conclusions. Beside, reviewers also examine the novelty, scientific impact, and references used in the paper.

 

Open Access Policy

This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

 

Archiving

This journal utilizes the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archiving system among participating libraries and permits those libraries to create permanent archives of the journal for purposes of preservation and restoration.

 

Publication Ethic

All parties involved in the publishing process of Addabana: Journal of Islamic Religious Education, Al-Falah Banjarbaru Islamic College, namely Scientific Journal Managers, Editors, Bestari Partners, Reviewers, and Writers should understand and comply with the ethical code of scientific publications. The statement on the ethical code for scientific publications refers to the Regulation of the Head of LIPI No. 5 of 2014 concerning the Code of Ethics for Scientific Publications. Basically, scientific work to be published should consider the following publication ethical values:

1.     Neutrality means being free from conflicts of interest in managing publications

2.     Justice means giving authorship rights to those who are entitled as authors

3.     Honesty, namely free from duplication, fabrication, falsification and plagiarism (DF2P) in publications

Duties and Responsibilities of Scientific Journal Managers

  1. Determine the name of the journal, scientific scope, periodicity, and accreditation when needed
  2. Determine the membership of the editorial board
  3. Defines the relationship between publishers, editors, publishers and other parties
  4. Respect things that are confidential, both for contributing researchers, authors, editors and bestari partners
  5. Implement norms and provisions regarding intellectual property rights, especially copyright
  6. Review journal policies and convey them to authors, editors, review partners and readers
  7. Create code of conduct guidelines for editors and review partners
  8. Publish journals regularly
  9. Ensure the availability of funding sources for the sustainability of journal publication
  10. Building cooperation and marketing networks
  11. Improving the quality of the journal
  12. Prepare permits and other legal aspects
  13. DecisionEditor in Chief is final based on the submitted article

 Editor's Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Meeting the needs of readers and authors
  2. Striving to continuously improve the quality of publications
  3. Implement processes to ensure the quality of published written work
  4. Prioritize freedom of opinion objectively
  5. Maintain the integrity of the author's academic track record
  6. Deliver corrections, clarifications, withdrawals and apologies when necessary
  7. Responsible for the style and format of the written work, while the content and all statements in the written work are the responsibility of the author
  8. Actively solicit the opinions of authors, readers, review partners and editorial board members to improve the quality of publications
  9. Encourage an assessment of the journal if there are findings
  10. Support initiatives to reduce research and publication errors by asking authors to attach an Ethical Clearance form that has been approved by the Ethical Clearance Commission
  11. Support initiatives to educate researchers about publication ethics
  12. Examining the effect of publication policies on the attitudes of authors/authors and bestari partners and improving them to increase responsibility and reduce errors
  13. Have an open mind to new opinions or other people's views that may conflict with your personal opinions
  14. Do not defend your own, the author's or a third party's opinion which may result in unobjective results
  15. Encourage authors/authors to improve their written work until it is suitable for publication

Duties and Responsibilities of Bestari Partners

  1. Receive an assignment from the editor to review written work and submit the results of the review to the editor, as material for determining the suitability of a written work for publication
  2. Written works are reviewed in a timely manner according to the style of the publication environment based on scientific principles (data collection methods, author legality, conclusions, etc.)
  3. Review written work that has been corrected according to predetermined standards
  4. Encourage authors/writers to improve their written work by providing criticism, suggestions, input and recommendations
  5. Maintain the author's privacy by not disseminating the results of corrections, suggestions and recommendations by providing criticism, suggestions, input and recommendations
  6. Reviewers may not carry out reviews of written works that involve themselves, either directly or indirectly

Reviewer Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Receive assignments from the editorial team to review articles and submit the review to the editorial team, to determine the suitability of an article for publication
  2. Reviewers cannot comment on articles related to themselves, either directly or indirectly
  3. Maintain the author's privacy by not sharing the results of corrections, suggestions and recommendations
  4. Encourage authors to make improvements to articles
  5. Review revised articles as requested by the editor
  6. Provide constructive feedback on accepted articles with improvements
  7. Before accepting/rejecting an article, consider whether the article fits the reviewer's area of knowledge/expertise and whether they can complete the review task
  8. The results of the review will also determine the editorial board's decision whether the article is suitable for publication or not
  9. Provide special comments and notes on each part of the article
  10. In providing recommendations on the results of a review, the reviewer needs to explain in detail the reasons and assessment in deciding whether the article is accepted, rejected or revised

 Duties and Responsibilities of Scientific Journal Authors

  1. The director ensures that those included in the list of authors meet the criteria as authors
  2. Authors are collectively responsible for the work and content of the article including methods, analysis, calculations, and details
  3. The author states the origin of resources (including funding) either directly or indirectly
  4. The author explains the limitations of the research
  5. The author immediately responds to comments made by bestari partners in a professional and timely manner
  6. The author informs the editor when to withdraw the manuscript
  7. The author respects any request from the publisher not to publish findings either in the form of interviews or through other media before they are published by the publisher
  8. The author informs the editor about (a number of) papers that are part of a gradual, multi-disciplinary, and different perspective research
